“Some people say, sometimes being on a rough spot is all you need to give more than 100%. Emil has proved that point olympically,” Manager Williamson's first words after Men become Gods Tour last stage, embraced to a merry blonde Danish folk wearing a bronze jersey displaying a hoplite helm.
“I admit our staff didn’t handle professionally the money issue and his depart. But the disrespectful silence of the whole OCM Community underestimating Emil's true value was the last drop, the biggest insult to a top rider. I could see everyday the rage in his eyes, on his pedalling, to show them how wrong they were… yeah, the team has to thank y’all,” the boss grins.
Two participations in Greece, two Sprinters jerseys. And both editions without being favorites before the start. Of course, many will say lots of things, from bike engines to EPO fruit punch… if we were a Top Division team that would be the explanation of our performance.
Emil Sønderby counted with something others didn’t, wisdom and a former winner in the team bus recently retired; Metodija Aksentiev. Manager Williamson knew he would be the perfect guide from the team car and lead our riders on the tricky Greek roads.
“After the break of S67, when no sprinters fought for the SC, we expected this edition it’d be very close to what happened on S66. Tactics worked as it did in the past and Emil played his part like a true viking, precisely and cold-blooded,” Aksentiev commented on Amstel TV.
“I guess I’m not worth 300k,” a laughing Sønderby exclaimed in the bus as team mates and staff can’t hold their laughter and champagne spilled the bus floor. Emil Sønderby, Men become Gods Tour Sprint Classification Winner + 3 results (2 wins) (S68), enjoy your deserved win, skål!

Thank you bro, let's see how he does!
I see Normann is arrived, good luck with him:)
Thank you!
Nicely done!
Unless you climb too fast in no time hehehe
Sign up in 20 days? We'll see ;)
That was my only concern on both opportunities, wind. I'm not that strong in the winds though the leaders don't feel nervous. Hopefully we will race again together, maybe Norway?
Yeah, got the same feeling, that TQ is not "needed". Should have probably brought my FR team to the fight. Lesson learned. Still, my Stage 6 was worse then expected, was hoping for better there. We had a lot of wind there as well, that influenced the Tour.
And also missed Hanák here, because he got injured in his last race (he was the main support in the first edition)
Well, my main favorite was one of yours. I guess my good stage 2 saved me, since Aksentiev lacked HL and just managed a 4th. So being in front of all sprinters that one pretty sure it worked it out on our way. My conclusion is, TQ isn't that important in this Tour, my captains were 48 and 48 in TQ, of course high TQ TM
Congrats! Who was for you the favourite? With your Tour experience it could only be you in my opinion ;)
Not my Tour here, bad experience for us. Think my Tour selection was wrong from the Start. Shame I don’t plan to come back and fight for this nice jersey.
Hope to fight against you in the future again!
